Troubleshooting
When something isn’t behaving the way you expect, this is the place to start. Most hiccups come down to one of a few things — iCloud taking a moment to catch up, the App Store still settling a purchase, or a task’s active window not being quite what you thought. Each section below describes a symptom in plain terms and walks through the fix.
If your question is more “how do I…” than “why won’t this work,” the FAQ is the better place to look.
My tasks aren’t showing up on another device
You use Kyro on more than one device, but a task you added on one isn’t appearing on the other. Kyro keeps your routine and history in sync through iCloud, and a few things need to line up for that to work.
How to fix it:
- Make sure both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account and have iCloud turned on for Kyro (open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then iCloud).
- Check that both devices have an internet connection — sync pauses when a device is offline and resumes once it’s back.
- Give it a moment. iCloud sync is quick but not always instant; a change can take a little time to travel between devices, especially just after a device wakes up.
- If it still hasn’t caught up, open and close the app on the other device to prompt a refresh.
Kyro won’t let me add another task
You tap the plus button on the Tasks tab and, instead of the editor, you see the Kyro Pro screen. This means you’ve reached the free plan’s limit of 5 tasks.
The count includes archived tasks as well as active ones — archiving keeps a task’s history, so it doesn’t free up a slot. You have two ways forward:
How to fix it:
- Make room on the free plan. Open the Tasks tab, find a task in the Archived section you no longer need, swipe left, and tap Delete to remove it permanently. That frees a slot. (Note this erases that task’s history and can’t be undone.)
- Unlock unlimited tasks. Get Kyro Pro — a one-time purchase that removes the limit entirely.
I bought Kyro Pro but still see the limit
You purchased Kyro Pro — or you had it on another device — but Kyro is still showing the five-task cap. The purchase is almost certainly fine; Kyro just hasn’t picked it up yet.
How to fix it:
- Open the Me tab and tap Restore Purchases. This asks the App Store to re-sync what you own, which is exactly what’s needed on a new phone or after a reinstall.
- Make sure you’re signed in to the same Apple Account you purchased with — a purchase is tied to that account, so a different one won’t find it.
- If a purchase seemed to go through but Pro didn’t switch on, it may still be settling with the App Store. Wait a moment and tap Restore Purchases again.
A streak or day looks wrong after I edited a task
You changed a task’s Start at date and noticed some earlier completions have gone. This is expected: when you move a task’s start date later, the days before the new start are no longer part of the task’s active window, so their completions are cleared.
How to fix it:
- If you didn’t mean to move the start date, set it back to the earlier date. Note that completions cleared by the later start aren’t restored — only days on or after the start date count.
- Remember that today always reflects the current day. If you left Kyro open overnight, pull down on the Today screen to refresh it to the real today.
A task disappeared from Today
A task you expected is missing from Today. A task only appears on days inside its active window, so check these in order:
How to fix it:
- Was it archived? Open the Tasks tab and look in the Archived section. If it’s there, swipe left and tap Restore to bring it back.
- Does its start date fall later than the day you’re viewing? A task with a future (or more recent) Start at date won’t appear on earlier days.
- Are you viewing the right day? Tap the calendar button on Today, or the week strip, to make sure you’re on the day you think you are.
