Reminders
Kyro can send you one notification in the evening if you still have tasks open for the day — a quiet nudge before the day ends, so a streak doesn’t slip away just because you forgot. On a day you’ve already finished everything, Kyro stays silent: there’s nothing to remind you about, so you don’t get a reminder.
You’ll find it on the Me tab, in the Evening reminder card just below your plan.
Turning it on
Flip the Evening reminder toggle (its caption reads “Only when tasks are still open.”). It’s off until you turn it on.
The first time you switch it on, iOS asks whether Kyro may send you notifications. Kyro only asks at that moment — never when you first open the app. If you choose not to allow notifications, the toggle stays off; see If notifications are off to change your mind later.
Choosing the time
Once the reminder is on, a Remind me at row appears beneath the toggle. Tap the time to pick when you’d like to be reminded. It’s set to 9:00 PM by default.
Pick a time that still leaves you room to act on it — late enough that you’ve had a chance to get through your routine, early enough that you can still finish what’s left.
What the reminder says
The notification tells you how much is left and gives you somewhere to start:
- The title is the number of tasks still open — for example “3 tasks still open today”, or “1 task still open today”.
- The text names the first open task in your list and counts the rest — for example “Read and 2 more”, or just the task’s name when it’s the only one left.
A few things decide what counts as “open”:
- A simple task is open until you check it off.
- A counter task is open until you reach its daily goal — partway there still counts as open.
- Archived tasks, and tasks whose start date hasn’t arrived yet, are never counted.
When you won’t get one
No reminder is sent when:
- You’ve completed everything for the day.
- You have no active tasks that day.
- The reminder time has already passed when you turn the reminder on or move the time earlier — it simply starts from the next day.
On more than one device
The reminder is set separately on each device. Unlike your tasks and history, this setting doesn’t travel through iCloud, because notification permission belongs to each device. Turn it on wherever you’d like to be reminded — on your iPhone only, say, or on both your iPhone and iPad — and choose a time on each.
Your completions do sync, so finishing your routine on one device normally cancels the evening’s reminder on the others too.
If notifications are off
If notifications are switched off for Kyro in iOS, the reminder can’t be delivered. When that happens, the card shows a Notifications are off row with the note “Allow them for Kyro in Settings.” Tap it to jump straight to Kyro’s notification settings, and allow notifications there.
